The Battery Man

Print, web, photography

The Battery Man was a six-week-long project about an Elon freshman who designed and built his own electric motorcycles. I traveled to the student's home twice with Elon News Network reporter Anton L. Delgado to take photos and help record interviews. I also coded the website, made the graphics and designed the printed product. In order to code the website, we had a little help from The New York Times.

This was a very collaborative project. We discussed a wide variety of graphics we wanted and sketched prototypes of the webpage before I built it. We went through multiple iterations and thoroughly edited each other's work.

In print, the article was the cover story for the week and a four-page-pull-out section

Photos for the project were taken on a Canon EOS 70D. And for social media, I designed a GIF and multiple pull quote graphics for a campaign to interest our audience.
